B.S. Secondary Education from Brigham Young University Hawaii

The Secondary Teacher Education Program is an undergraduate program that leads to licensing for students who wish to teach in public schools. In Hawaii, the secondary teaching degree qualifies the recipients to teach grades 7 through 12. Program requirements include a strong general education background in liberal arts subjects, a major in an approved academic discipline (see below), and a professional education program. The College of Arts and Sciences provides the basic liberal arts background and the academic major programs. The School of Education provides the professional education program. The degree of Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S.) is conferred upon completion of all requirements as outlined in the student’s catalog.
