Course Requirements

The M.Ed. program consists of nine credit hours of core courses, 12-15 hours of study in a specific track, six to nine hours of electives and three to six hours in a capstone experience. For more information, please see requirements.

Master of Arts in Teaching at Salisbury State University Maryland

Approved by the Maryland State Department of Education for Initial Teacher Certification The Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) is a professional degree program designed to prepare students for initial teacher certification. This is a full-time, 16-month program which begins each January. It is not possible to complete the M.A.T. on a part-time basis. MS in Mathematics Education at Salisbury State University Maryland

The MSME is intended for those who teach mathematics, and those who wish to teach mathematics. The program has two tracks, one in middle school mathematics, and another in high school mathematics. The programs include education requirements. Unlike the M.Ed., the programs are based on mathematics content, and the electives allow participants to take more mathematics content courses than in the M.Ed.
