Studies in Educational Foundations focus on important educational policies and issues, using both disciplinary and interdisciplinary applications. The Master of Education (MEd) in Educational Foundations is offered as a regular semester program and as a summer semester program with online instruction during the rest of the year. The Department also offers a PhD degree with a focus in educational foundations and, in partnership with Educational Administration, a PhD in educational policy studies.

The Institute for Teacher Education (ITE) offers undergraduate degrees in elementary and secondary education (BEd), a post-baccalaureate certificate in secondary education (PBCSE) and advanced degrees in teaching (MEdT).
