Program Description:
Mathematics Education (M.Ed.; C.A.S.), is designed to help PK-8 teachers develop professionally as classroom teachers of mathematics and become teacher-leaders in their schools and districts. Teachers in this program will be educated to assist other teachers to teach mathematics conceptually, manage classrooms with large differences in abilities, conduct a variety of staff development activities, and participate in school-wide decisions about the mathematics curriculum.

The NLU Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary Education is designed for those of you who are not yet certified to teach but have already earned your bachelor’s degree in:

Your degree will qualify you for Type 09 certification as a secondary school teacher (grades 6-12) or Type 10 certification (grades K-12) for those with a bachelor's degree in Foreign Language by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).
