The Master of Education in Instructional Media is designed according to requirements set forth by the Oklahoma State Department of Education for standard certification as a school library media specialist for grades PK-12. The program serves a twofold purpose: 1) it enables students to earn a M.Ed. in Instructional Media that includes all the components for Oklahoma school library media specialist certification; and 2) students already holding a M.Ed. complete all or part of the required twenty-four hours of specialized course work for the library media specialist certificate.
The Applied Technology option of the Master of Education
The Chicano Education Program has a dual mission at Eastern Washington University. The program’s first mission is to actively contribute towards enhancing the opportunity and participation of Chicanos/Latinos in higher education. This mission is achieved by actively recruiting Chicano/Latino students and providing support to help them have a positive and successful academic career at Eastern Washington University.
A parallel CEP mission is to contribute to EWU’s goal towards addressing diversity by providing all students regardless of ethnicity with a Chicano Studies curriculum leading to a comprehensive understanding and appreciation of the Chicano/Latino community and relevant issues.

The Educational Media and Technology program is offered for graduate credit. If they already have a teaching license, students may earn the school library media specialist license and the master's degree through the distance mode in WebCT. What is ACT 48?
Act 48 requires all Pennsylvania educators holding Pennsylvania public school certification, including Intern, Instructional I and II, Educational Specialist I and II, Administrative, Supervisory, Letters of Eligibility and all vocational certificates, to participate in ongoing professional education.

All professional educators must obtain six credits of collegiate study; six credits of continuing professional education courses; 180 hours (6/6/180) of continuing professional education programs, activities or learning experiences; or any combination of credits
