The Master of Arts in Education program stimulates and guides elementary, middle and high school teachers toward higher levels of professional competency and intellectual maturity.
Baldwin-Wallace College is recognized for preparing K-12 teachers and administrators to assume greater responsibility and leadership in their schools and learning communities. Teachers graduate from the program with a Master’s degree that is highly respected in the educational community. K-12 educators can complete the MAEd with specializations in: Educational Technology, Mild/Moderate Educational Needs, Reading, School Leadership and, new Fall 2009 pending final approval by the Ohio Board of Regents,Teaching and Learning.

B-W’s MAEd in Mild/Moderate Educational Needs prepares teachers to fulfill a statewide need for intervention specialists able to work in inclusive settings as consultant teachers, small group instructors, resource room teachers, transition service coordinators and co-teachers in an inclusive classroom.
This program is 39-42 semester hours and allows teachers to add the Intervention Specialist Mild/Moderate Educational Needs license (K-12) to an existing teaching license.
This part-time program may be completed in as little as two years.

The purpose of clinical practice is to provide a structured experience for learning and refining the skills necessary to become an effective teacher of students with diverse abilities and backgrounds. The teacher education candidates are expected to exhibit the abilities to organize, plan, communicate, and evaluate learning experiences.
