In conjunction with SU’s School of Education, we offer a music education preparation program leading to the master of science (M.S.) degree for those students with an undergraduate major in music but not in music education who seek teacher certification. Music education also offers two professional certification master’s degree programs for those who hold initial certification in music and want to meet academic requirements for professional certification. Students may elect the M.S. or the master of music (M.Mus.) degree. Both programs include study in music education. Other courses in the M.S. in music education/professional certification program would emphasize education courses outside of music education. Additional coursework in the M.Mus. in music education/professional certification program would include offerings from other areas within the Setnor School of Music.

The Mathematics Education Program at Syracuse University is a joint program in the Department of Mathematics and in the School of Education's Teaching and Leadership program. Mathematics Education at Syracuse University is committed to the integration of theory and practice through university-school partnerships and extensive field-based experiences for all students.

Doctoral study should afford students and faculty an opportunity to examine critical issues of a field in the broadest possible contexts. It should encourage expansive thinking, and new ways of understanding matters of importance. At the same time, doctoral study obliges us to explore focused topics or concerns deeply, in their purest as well as their most complex forms. At Syracuse University we have attempted to pursue both goals, by combining a respect for expansive, broadly framed inquiry and a concern for in-depth investigations into particular, focused areas or issues.
Syracuse University has a long tradition of leadership in the field
The Department of Music Education was established to educate students in ways to cultivate professional music education. Students study various practical technique of the major, including, Solfege, Harmony, Counterpoint, History of Western Music, Orchestration, Chorus, Orchestra, Theory of Music Education, Teaching Material and Pedagogy of Music, Korean Traditional Music, Computer Music, Keyboard Harmony, and Technic of Digital Piano, among others.
Our programs in art education are offered in conjunction with SU's School of Education and include three major emphases: an exploration of media and sensory involvement; developing art-centered art curricula based upon phenomenological encounters; and research into the disciplines of inquiry in art and art education. Courses in art education examine developmental, intuitive, cognitive, aesthetic, and expressive aspects of art, as well as social and political aspects of art education.
As members of the Syracuse University Student Art Education Association (SUSAEA), students plan trips and mini-conferences with faculty members and area art educators to exchange ideas and promote each other’s professional
The Division of Music offers coursework leading to three separate undergraduate degree programs—Bachelor of Arts in Music, Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Bachelor of Music in Performance. The Bachelor of Music in Music Education professional degree program is for students who intend to pursue a career either as a public school teacher or supervisor of Music Education.
The University of Maine Division of Music is fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.

The Division of Fine Arts at Quincy University offers programs leading to two undergraduate degrees within the music program: the Bachelor of Arts in Music and the Bachelor of Science in Music Education. Additionally, an interdisciplinary program between the music program and the Division of Business and Computer Science offers a Bachelor of Science in Music with Elective Studies in Business.
The teaching philosophy of the music program is geared to the individual. This approach develops inborn talent to the fullest, while it stresses those qualities needed for success in the field - musicianship, technique, and overall music knowledge.
