The School of Educational Science of Foshan University is composed basically of part of the resources of the former Foshan College of Education, which was, under the ratification of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, incorporated into the university in March 2005, and part of those of the original Information Center of the university. There is at present in the school a staff of seventy-six members, of whom fifty-five are teaching professionals and eight are lab conductors. Among the teaching professionals nineteen are professors or associate professors, and, on the other hand, nineteen have an academic degree of doctor or master. The school now has an enrollment of 1020 full-time students, of whom 294 are undergraduates, 579 engaged in a three-year program, and 147 involved in formal adult education.

The school encompasses three departments, two institutes, two centers, two offices and a TV station: the departments of Basic Education, of Modern Educational Technology, and of Psychology (under planning); the institutes of Modern Educational Technology and of Educational Science; the Center for Teachers Training and the Center for Educational Science Experiments and Skills Training; the Administrative Office of the school and the Office for Student Affairs; and the Educational TV Station, and offers courses in two specialties, one in Basic Education with the concentrations on Chinese, Mathematics and English, and the other in the Studies of Modern Educational Technology with the concentrations on Education of Information Technology and Digital Media Technology. The Center for Teachers Training, as a base of continuing education for elementary and secondary schoolteachers of Guangdong Province, is committed to the task of training schoolteachers and kindergarten nurses and on-duty school principals, while the Institute of Modern Educational Technology and the Educational TV Station, whose comprehensive interest or service, to a great extent, covers all levels of the divisions and sections of the school, thus operate directly under the administration of the school leadership.

In the school are facilities and installations for instructional experiments and skills impartation, such as multimedia labs, multimedia network labs, digital media studios, mini-classrooms, nonlinear editor’s studios, educational technology experiments workshops, psychology workshops, an artistic skills training hall, and an educational TV station.

The school, while sticking to the idea of “teaching and learning as the basis of a school’s accomplishments, scientific research as the path to the capability of a school, and personality as the key to development” to run the school, and adhering to the essential task of nurturing locally-needed personnel, to the focus on undergraduate instruction, and to the emphasis upon professional disciplines construction, is dedicated to fashioning out modes of enhancing initiative and creativity and bringing forth senior adaptable and specialized personnel of leading consciousness, pioneering enterprise and practical aptitude.

Promoting New Forms of Learning

Our training focuses heavily on how the person learns not only in mathematics and mathematics as an object of study in themselves. Research: We describe the specific training, supported primarily by the theoretical framework of socioepistemología developed within the Latin American School of Mathematics Education. The main issues relate to teaching practice and the development of Thought and Language variational, and have been presented in Congress on Mathematical Education nationally and internationally. Special mention deserves the Student Research Group in Mathematics Education (Geimer), formed in 2005, he has presented his work in international fora such as the XXI Latin American Meeting of Mathematics Education held in Maracaibo, Venezuela.

Master of Education, in terms of direct management and Curriculum and Evaluation

1. OBJECTIVES

• Develop critical analysis of current educational trends most relevant theoretical and methodological tool of teaching - research.
• Encourage analysis and valuation of the components of the educational process and teaching as a theoretical - practical teaching.
• Promote the development of skills that enable the selection, development and use of participatory methods for development of teaching practice.
• Provide a sound theoretical and methodological training, suitable for academic and research processes to develop action in the classroom and school
• Provide conceptual and theoretical tools that facilitate analysis and evaluation of educational processes, both for its theoretical / epistemological and its institutional implementation.
• Encouraging the development of skills needed for the design and implementation of projects or inter-disciplinary theoretical and empirical production in the field of education.

2.ESTRUCTURA PROGRAM.

The Masters Program is structured in four semesters, with the additional option of Curriculum and Assessment and Management Directive, whichever of the two at the beginning of the third semester. All subjects are considered to-face and complementary virtual work.
The Graduate Thesis work begins in the second semester with preparatory workshops thesis and then in the third semester, the selected topic to research and presentation of the thesis project to be developed in the fourth semester.

5. EXPENDITURE AND GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

The degree of Master will be available once the student has successfully passed all subjects specified in the curriculum, the Thesis and the Review of Grade.
The thesis will be developed during the fourth semester and will be led by a professor in the Program. May be done either individually or in teams of 2 or less.
For graduation, students must have passed all the subjects, obtaining a minimum grade average of 5.0 (five point zero).

6. DURATION

The duration of the program is four semesters and may not exceed six semesters to obtain the degree.

DESCRIPTION OF THE RACE:

It is a specialty that aims to train a competent professional in the teaching of mother tongue to the extent of its functionality language: instrumental, communicative, heuristics, cultural and aesthetic.
It will emphasize values inherent in the Christian intent of the communication in accordance with biblical precepts that define anthropological Adventist education.

Advantages of the Programme - the programme gives the opportunity to obtain teaching qualification in 5 years and the right to teach sports and biology at basic school. Students obtain an academic degree in education and the right to begin postgraduate study after the defence of the Bachelor’s paper.
Full-time and part - time studies are available.

Study Process
Studies take place in lecture - rooms (lectures, seminars, practical and laboratory work), sports halls, stadiums and swimming-pools, where they acquire skills in different kinds of sports, at schools (teaching, educational and qualification practices) and outdoors (tourism and skiing classes).

Methods of Teaching
According to the contents of the subject and the form of study, up - to - date, innovative methods (group work, co-operative learning) and latest technical facilities are used (the internet, computer projectors, etc.).

Duration of Studies
The professional study programme Sports and Biology Teacher at the Basic School has been designed for 5 years of study. Graduates obtain the qualification Sports and Biology Teacher at Basic School with an integrated programme of the bachelor of education.
The programme can be acquired both in full-time and part - time studies.

Article 26th of the Decree-Law No 74/2006 of 24 March and the number 2 of Article 5th of the regulations of studies leading to master’s degree from Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco ( IPCB), determine and I know that:

1 - You are open, the deadlines set out in paragraph 10 of this announcement, the period for applications for the course of study leading to the degree of Master of Special Education - Cognitive and Motor Area of the School of Education IPCB.

2 - You can apply for access to the course of study leading to the degree of Master of Special Education - Cognitive and Motor Domain:

a) Holders of the degree of Doctor of Science Education in Psychology in Special Education and Rehabilitation or related areas and also hold a degree or equivalent legal degree from giving access to teaching;

b) Holders of a foreign academic degree conferred higher following a 1st cycle of studies organized according to the principles of the Bologna Process by a State acceding to this process;

c) Holders of a degree higher than abroad that is recognized as meeting the objectives of the licenciado degree by the scientific body statutorily responsible for the higher education establishment where you want to be admitted;

2.1 - The qualifications stated in b) and c) of the preceding paragraph shall meet the scientific area in which it develops the course of study or be considered appropriate to its frequency in a further supplementary studies by the Scientific Council of the School.

3 - The number of vacancies for the course of study leading to the degree of Master of Special Education - Cognitive and Motor Area is 30, divided by the following quotas:

- Guiding Cooperating groups from schools / institutions with whom the School of Education is active protocols - 6 vacancies;

- Persons with disabilities - 2 places;

- General Quota - 22.

3.1 - Vacancies Sobrante any of the remaining quotas will be allocated quotas under the proposal submitted to the President School of IPCB.

3.2 - The course will be operational only if it has a minimum of 18 students enrolled.
