The Wellness certification provides graduates the skills to teach both Physical Education and Health, ages PreKindergarten through Adult. The program was undertaken with the intent of preparing fitness experts to assist the nation in modifying the rapid development of health problems. Physical educators who are highly motivated, who exhibit a deep understanding of proper exercise and nutritional habits, and who understand the methods of teaching will be truly valuable in assisting the nation in reducing health costs and increasing productivity of its individuals.

Offering the course of Specialization in Education of Young Adults in the UESC exercise its role of promoting the information and generate knowledge in this area, becoming an area of excellence for professional training in adult and youth education, and meet a demand raised by the region of its scope.

Teaching Adult Dyslexic Learners in Higher Education at University of North London

The aims of the course are to offer specialist training in teaching adult dyslexic students in higher education, and to provide you with knowledge of the theories that relate to specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dyspraxia. The course will also equip you with a range of strategies to help adult dyslexic learners, including an understanding of information technology that helps dyslexic undergraduate students overcome the barriers to their learning.

Degree (or equivalent). Candidates without a degree of lower second class or better will need to submit a piece of written work for assessment.

The Early Childhood Educator program prepares the student for employment as a head teacher or director of childcare facilities. Learning opportunities center around curriculum planning, managing and teaching within a childcare facility. Skills essential to working with parents and children in a variety of settings and activities are stressed. - The individual who is considering going into the field of early childhood education should be aware that checks with the Adult and Child Abuse Registries are conducted before employment is offered. Such checks are also done on an individual enrolled in practicum courses. This practice is consistent with Nebraska State Statutes.

The Early Childhood Educator-Assistant program provides training/learning opportunities for paraprofessionals that assist head teachers in carrying out various responsibilities. The reading and language arts/literacy education program prepares educators to teach students at all age levels, K-adult, in general education and content area instructional situations. The program focuses on both students who progress typically and those who struggle with learning to read. The program
meets all International Reading Association Standards for Classroom Professionals and Specialized Reading Professionals.

State of Ohio Endorsement in Reading is attained as part of the core requirements of the program. For this reason, students who enter the program must hold a valid teaching certificate or license.

In addition to possessing a liberal arts background and professional competencies, teachers in adult and general education should have a high degree of competence in a particular area. To meet this objective, several courses can be selected (See Coppin Catalog for specifics).
