The Department is engaged in research, formation and updating activities in the psycho-pedagogic and didactic field, as well as in outlining and training new professional profiles.
During the years it’s been responsible of the in service formation of sammarinese teachers of every order and level and of the professional training of future teachers with Biennial specialization and perfection courses for aspiring teachers of sammarinese schools.
At the end of the 90ies the Department activated the Education Portal, that hosts educational and didactical materials coming from schools and materials that refer to the extra-scholastic system. The Portal is proposed as an innovating data bank of the educational resources available in the territory, indicating places, experiences, competences and instruments. The research activity is a section of particular interest for the Department, it has promoted Research-Action projects in the didactic sphere.
Master Course for Operators in the field of Prevention and Reduction of scholastic and extra scholastic Maladjustment in preadolescence
The Department promotes a biennial Master Course for the formation of professionals able to operate in the field of prevention and reduction of scholastic and extra scholastic maladjustment in preadolescence. This section of intervention is greatly relevant and debated both in the scholastic system (where new `system figures` and `object projects` are assumed in order to confront the complexity of a maladjustment that is ever more present and explosive), and in territorial services that deal with a limited presence in this section and risk a partial organization not always adequate in confronting all forms of preadolescent maladjustment in accordance with psyco- social-pedagogic complex and integrated strategies. The Master Course is open to university graduates in psychology, pedagogy, education sciences, sciences of primary formation , sociology or to practicing teachers and educators, with no relation to their degree.

Specialization Course in Learning Psychopathology
The object of the Course is providing a deepened formation in the field of learning disorders, both under a methodology and theoretic profile and as an opening to field research and professional practice. The teachings provided intend to expand theoretic and methodic knowledge opening them up to the most recent contributions in the sphere of developmental learning psychopathology. Special attention is drawn on the formation of operators whom will confront these problems in educational and social-sanitary contexts. The Course is open to university graduates in Psychology or to equivalent degrees (in medicine, pedagogy, philosophy, sociology, humanity studies with a psychological approach).

Master Course for Managing Human resources
The Department promotes a biennial Master Course oriented in forming two professional figures, the first able to interact with the athlete’s staff in a coordinated and interdisciplinary way and the second able to interact with staffs of organized structures for the development of amateur sport activities functional for improving the state of well being. This is a sector of intervention of great relevance nowadays, debated both in the sport field and in the social sanitary one. Sport boosts maximum psychological and social development, it profoundly influences athlete’s lives in powering their intrinsic motivations, giving behavior intensity and direction and a clear vision of possibilities and goals, educating towards positive models of social relations.

The presence of an expert with a psycho pedagogic formation is important to integrate the physical preparation with the psychological one and to confront problems dealing with agonistic practice and with the achievement of results.

Conditions of Entry:

May enter any college or university graduates with recognition coming from:
EGB races 1 and 2, and initial level of at least three years’ duration and with a minimum of 1800 hours.
Faculty from two or three years’ duration and with a load less than 1800 and not less than 1200 hours under the following conditions: Prove at least 300 hours in advanced courses in education.
Demonstrate a minimum of three years of work experience. It capitalizes on the experience and training. Is credited to an equivalent 300 hours for this.

Those applicants who do not attain the minimum training base equivalent to 1800 hours, they must make a journey of leveling. This course grading will be defined based on the background that the present applicant.

Community Development Program

The Community Development Program was founded in the year 2000, in cooperation with McGill University in Montreal Canada.

It was established in order to provide a variety of social services in a number of different fields. The main aim of the program’s work is to assist the community of Sweileh in solving the problems they face. The Program is based on providing them with mechanisms that will enable them to help themselves. The Program works with people from a diversity of backgrounds. Cases are individually assessed and programs are then adapted to meet specific needs of the community.

After conducting and analyzing social surveys and studies, the eastern neighborhood in Sweileh was selected as the site for the program. The number and complexity of problems that are present in this neighborhood made it an ideal location to spearhead work of the program.

In order to achieve its mission, the program relies on the hard work of its employees and workers. Many of those who join the program are professors from different universities, including the university of Jordan, and a focused administrative committee. The dedication and commitment of the volunteers from the community and local university is essential for the good functioning of the program, as well as the joint efforts of other organizations working in similar fields.

The University of Macerata, Università degli Studi del Molise and the CELF (Center for e-learning and training at the University of Macerata), in cooperation with IFOR in Matera, trigger for the academic year 2007/2008, a Course lasting one year, in the Design and disciplinary teaching. Educational Italian, mathematics, English, history, science, law, economics seeks to enrich and refine the design education, including through online activity.

Teaching the past decade has highlighted the need for a significant learning skills designed to create more knowledge. It requires us to shape the context in which to build models, rather than receiving responses. Simultaneously, the student can interact with micro adopting cultures, languages, ‘rules’ different and require multiple approaches.

Undoubtedly, the design is influenced by the teaching customization and complexity. It is aimed at learning meaningful, authentic tasks and proposes located, favors personalized perspective.

The course is the time for training in professional preparation of teachers and is also carried out in connection with training at a distance that the University of Camerino, Macerata and Molise have already activated and are meant to enhance.

LLM/PGCert/PGDip Advanced Litigation and Dispute Resolution

Practitioners in the field of civil litigation and dispute resolution face the traditional pressures of heavy caseloads, the complexity of cases, financial pressures and the need to keep up to date with new developments in legislation and case law. There are now further additional challenges, as methods of alternative dispute resolution gain a higher profile. This course allows you to build on your knowledge and experience by developing high level skills in areas chosen by you.

Each module allows you to focus on a particular aspect of civil litigation and dispute resolution for an intensive two day period. Using plenary sessions, discussion, case study, role play and simulation you will learn by doing rather than simply taking notes.

The course is designed for solicitors, barristers, senior legal executives and those in similar fields of practice (such as patent attorneys or claims managers). You can start the course immediately on qualification, although practitioners with at least five years post-qualification experience, may be eligible to undertake a fast-track route.

The International Master’s Programme in Ecotechnology and Sustainable Development will provide you with knowledge related to environmental and natural resource questions from a sustainability point of view and from global, regional and local levels. These broad issues, which vary in relation to time, place, complexity and connectedness, are approached in an interdisciplinary and systemic way. The programme includes courses in both Environmental Science and Environmental Technology. Environmental Science focuses on knowledge about how natural resources and the environment form preconditions to create sustainable societal functions. Environmental Technology, on the other hand, focuses on the technology and technical systems from a sustainability perspective. This programme aims to develop your analytical and systemic thinking and thus to provide you with the ability to tackle complex problems.
