Plan Description
The field of study in public education is designed to provide teachers with relevant professional knowledge, practices and values to ensure high standards of teaching and leadership throughout Queensland schools. Specific areas of interest in Queensland public education will be addressed with reference to key Education Queensland (EQ) policy documents and frameworks that underpin leadership, pedagogy, assessment, and curriculum. Students will draw upon relevant evidence in designing and implementing projects in their teaching and leadership contexts. Teachers’ work and leadership roles will be framed in terms of both a futures orientation and a broad understanding of public education and the role of schools in creating and maintaining a civic realm of shared knowledge values and social practices.
