The PhD in Educational Sciences aims to form a professional at the highest level, with a profound motivation to investigate and understand the causes and consequences of the failures and experiences in the education system, the methodological tools, science and technology necessary to lead the changes necessary to place on the ladder of social development and the dignity of individuals.

Specialized training in the field of educational research will dig deeper, ask questions and find the truth behind this issue in response to this profound set of questions, expresses concern and urgency in the Costa Rican education system and its relationship to education world.

Ability to detect problems and developing solutions through a critical and creative in their professional work.
Ability to plan, organize, develop, conduct or guide research in social and educational, for the creation of new knowledge or the resolution of problematic educational situations.
Critically interpret research and evaluative nature.
Write articles, give speeches, to compare ideas, critical thinking and educational issues disclose academic.
Management of the latest communication technologies, not only for their ongoing personal enrichment, but for their advisory work, teaching and conducting innovative processes.
Ease in interpersonal relations and groups, ability for integration into social groups of different compositions and labor.
Skilled management of communication in situations dissertation, counseling or education to groups of varying size.
Efficiently advise steering groups, institutions, public and private, national and international or specialized teams working on the analysis of educational issues for a proper decision.

Has a duration of seven (7) semesters of fifteen (15) weeks each. With a total of 73 credits.

Entry Requirements
The admission of students to the program, is the power of the Commission of the Doctoral Program in Education Sciences from the Catholic University of Costa Rica.
Present title of Bachelor or Master of Education or any of the Social Sciences, awarded by the Catholic University, for one of the members of CONARE universities, or recognized by the CONESUP or university with international recognition duly authenticated by the appropriate authorities .
Possess a minimum average of 80 in pre-university studies.
Submitted to an interview
Submit the following documents:
Curriculum vitae (CV).
Application form duly filled entry to the program.
Written application by hand, in justifying his interest in entering the doctoral program and the area or topic you want to deepen and be included.
Document that presents your research project, or plan of written academic work, which developed as a doctoral requirement.
Original and photocopy of academic qualifications obtained, including Bachelor of Secondary Education (required by CONESUP)
Record of college grades.
Two letters of recommendation: one academic and one that will realize his capacity as a professional officer.
Two passport size photographs.
Two photocopies of identity card, both sides.
Graduation Requirements
Study and approve the program of studies, with a weighted average of at least 80.
To keep up with their financial obligations and other services provided by the university.
Approve the defense of the doctoral thesis before a Court Examiner.
Title and grade given

Once satisfied all requirements for graduation, students receive the degree of Doctorate in Education Sciences

Education Degree at Abant Izzet Baysal University Turkey

Having been located a long time ago, the Faculty of Education is one of the pioneering institutions which train teachers. Respectively Darü’lmuallimin (1914), Girls Teacher Training School (1917), Bolu Boys Teacher Training School (1948) and (1965), Bolu Institute of Education (1976) and Higher School of Education (1982) constituted the today’s faculty of education. This faculty has been the pilot project of YOK ( Institute of Higher Education )/World Bank’s national education development program. It has gained reputation with its historical background and qualified teaching staff along with the support of Izzet Baysal Foundation.

Korean Language Education Degree at Korea University

Department of Korean Language Education at Korea University was found 1978 according to the founding ideology of College of Education that aims to nurture teachers along with the founding ideology of Korea University to ‘save the country with education’. For almost 30 years, the department contributed immensely to the education world by nurturing about 1,700 graduates, who are currently taking important roles in the field of academy, public media, advertisement, publication, and administration. Currently there are 8 exclusive professors with the highest reputation in the field of Korean language, Korean linguistics, modern literature, and classic literature in the Department of Korean Language, with about 200 undergraduate students. The students participate in many academic societies prepared within the department while devoting to their major studies, along with personal teaching if they wish to. Within the department, there are academic societies such as ‘meeting of pre-teachers practicing real education’, education literary, studies of Korean language, modern literature, classic literature, and Aureum(Korean music instrument performing team). An academic festival within Department of Korean Language Education is held every November with publication of dissertation collection with its performances, and the students accumulate theories and practical knowledge through academic visits at sophomore year and student teacher practices at senior year. Every year endless graduates pass teacher employment examinations then advance to the world of education, but on the other hand, they advance to graduate schools, receive degrees, and become professors, or perform active social activities in the field of public media, broadcasting, publication, or governmental organization, while standing out in the world of literary creation and criticism.

The department nurture competent teachers to lead the 21st century knowledge and information society, and progressive people of talent to lead creative language and culture, which is the foundation of knowledge and information. The concrete goals of nurturing people of talent are: first, nurture excellent teachers with disposition and ability to efficiently perform Korean language education in middle school. Second, nurture outstanding professionals who can make creative linguistic communications with the cultural world such public media, advertisement, and literature, and professional personnel executing policies in the field of Korean language education. Third, nurture professionals theoretically searching for Korean language education reflecting the actual site at schools, while systematically studying Korean language and culture. The department is operating a diverse and in-depth curriculum over Korean language education, study of Korean language, modern literature, and classic literature. Keeping in mind of the importance of Korean language education in today’s knowledge and information society and global era, we are putting the best efforts to maximize materialization and propagation of Korean language education combined to an international perspective.
