Human Development Education from Colby College

This minor encourages an interdisciplinary approach to understanding human growth and development. Students consider a variety of perspectives on the study of human development; examine the relationship between individuals and the social, cultural, and historical context in which they live; and gain practical experience working in an institution or agency devoted to fostering human development and improving human lives. It provides initial preparation for careers in education, human services, and/or social policy, as well as for graduate study in a number of different fields and disciplines.

Counselor Education Program from Cleveland State University

Students are not fully admitted into the program until they have passed CNS 620. Thus, this course must be the first taken in the professional counselor education sequence. Other counselor education professional courses may be taken simultaneously, but not before completing this courses (see sequence below). It is important to note that, in accordance with CACREP accreditation, students are evaluated throughout the program on their academic performance, as well as their personal and professional development, which includes mental and emotional wellness. There also are courses in the program where students will be asked to engage in personal growth components that involve self-disclosure.
