Master Degree Personal Trainer Education in County College of Morris

This program is designed to provide entry-level training to those interested in a career as a personal trainer in the fitness industry. Students will gain background information about fitness and health sufficient to take one of several Personal Trainer certification examinations offered by various national organizations, such as American Council on Exercise, the American College of Sports Medicine, or Aerobic Fitness Association of America. (Certification Exams are not offered at CCM as part of this program.)

MA TEFL Intercultural Studies at Columbia International University

The M.A. TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) /Intercultural Studies program is designed for those with an undergraduate degree in Bible and trains teachers of English as a foreign language by providing teaching theory and skills, a knowledge of how to approach different cultures, and an understanding of how language works. The curriculum focuses on training professional teachers who have an understanding of the field, the techniques of teaching, curriculum design, and linguistics. This degree encourages gaining experience in missions and intercultural studies to prepare the student for living and teaching in a different culture. NOTE: This degree program assumes previous study in Bible and theology. Students should consult the admissions section of the catalog for specific information on the Bible and theology requirements. Students not meeting this requirement should apply to the Certificate in Biblical Studies program at Columbia Biblical Seminary. After completing the Certificate in Biblical Studies, students would qualify to apply to the MA in TEFL/ICS program.

Drawing Education from Colorado State University Pueblo

In drawing I, the aim of the class is to give students the basic foundation in drawing skills. These skills include the choice and application of materials, the structural use of a two dimensional surface with regard to recording visual information and a developed ability in visual thinking. This course is a foundation for all areas of the visual arts and as a beginning course for drawing as an emphasis area.

Drawing II is a studio course essentially involving of practice drawing the human figure and instruction in anatomy in order to better understand the structure and articulation of the body. Ultimately, the study and practice is intended to help develop creative expression.

Advanced drawing courses are meant to develop a student’s abilities in drawing to a high level of competence using a variety of drawing media.

Undergraduate Russian Studies Program Education in Colorado Christian University

RSP students are exposed to the depth and diversity of the culture during a semester spent in Russia’s three largest cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg and Nizhni Novgorod. In addition to three seminar courses entitled History and Sociology of Religion in Russia; Russian Peoples, Cultures and Literature; and Russia in Transition, students receive instruction in the Russian language, choosing either 4 or 6 semester hours of language coursework. For those choosing 4 hours of Russian, a seminar course, International Relations and Business in Russia, is available. RSP strives to give students as wide an experience as possible in this complex nation. Students spend time in Moscow, the heart of both medieval and modern Russia. Students also spend 12 weeks in Nizhni Novgorod, a strategic city on the Volga River. After six weeks of language instruction, students live with a Russian family for the remainder of their stay in this city. Students participate in a service opportunity in Nizhni Novgorod. The program also includes time in the complex and intriguing city of St. Petersburg, the Russian “window to the West.” Students earn 16 semester hours of credit under the RUS prefix on a Colorado Christian University transcript. Middle East Studies Program Education in Colorado Christian University

This program, based in Cairo, Egypt, allows Council students to explore and interact with the complex and strategic world of the modern Middle East. The interdisciplinary seminars give students the opportunity to explore the diverse religious, social, cultural and political traditions of Middle Eastern peoples. Students also study the Arabic language and work as volunteers with various organizations in Cairo. Through travel to Israel, Palestine, Jordan, Syria and Turkey, students are exposed to the diversity and dynamism of the region. At a time of tension and change in the Middle East Region, MESP encourages and equips students to relate to the Muslim world in an informed, constructive and Christ centered manner. Undergraduate China Studies Program in Colorado Christian University

The China Studies Program enables students to engage this ancient and intriguing country from the inside. While living in and experiencing Chinese civilization firsthand, students participate in seminar courses on the historical, cultural, religious, geographic and economic realities of this strategic and populous nation. In addition to the study of standard Chinese language, students are given opportunities such as assisting Chinese students learning English or working in an orphanage, allowing for one on one interaction. The program introduces students to the diversity of China, including Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Xi’an and Xiamen. This interdisciplinary, cross cultural program enables students to deal with this increasingly important part of the world in an informed, Christ centered way. Undergraduate Australia Studies Centre Education in Colorado Christian University

The ASC offers students a semester at the Wesley Institute, in Sydney, Australia, where they can explore their artistic talents through Wesley Institute’s outstanding division of Ministry & the Arts. Faculty trained and working in the professional performing arts scene in Sydney will guide students in their thinking through the Christian’s role in culture, whether classical or pop culture. The ASC utilizes a combination of classroom training at the Wesley Institute and experiential learning in the beautiful Australian context. Home stays, service learning and travel around Australia are important components of the ASC. Students will examine the many faces of Australia. They will observe its beautiful landscape, live in the cosmopolitan melting pot of Sydney, serve the poor of Sydney’s multi-cultural ghettos, engage the political capital Canberra and its power players, and come to know the traditions of Aborigines. ASC students participate in the core experiential course and choose the remainder of their credits from Wesley Institute’s arts and ministry courses. Associate of Applied Science Degree Education in College of the Mainland

The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Computer Information Systems gives students exposure to several computer specialties as well as the general education courses needed for a well rounded degree. In addition to writing, speaking, math and other social skills, students gain exposure to programming databases, networking, operating systems, and system analysis and design. This degree trains students for entry level programming jobs and also primarily suited for individuals desiring to work in smaller to medium sized companies where a broader computer knowledge is at a premium.
